On Saturday 19. 9. at 11:00, an event titled “Babylon under Špilberk” will culminate at Moravské náměstí. A festive parade of national minorities living in Brno will march across the “Rainbow Square”. The introduction of individual groups and associations of national minorities will be followed by a programme presenting folklore ensembles, bands and soloists of national minorities living in the heart of the South Moravian Region.
The meeting of national minorities living in Brno offers the chance to get familiarised with the individual cultures of nations living in our city.
The general public will thus learn about traditional folk culture kept by individual minorities as the folk traditions, habits, costumes as well as gastronomy of participating nations will be presented during concerts. The aim is to give an idea of the life of national minorities in Brno.
The benefit of this project is especially in joint communication, exchange of experience and mutual enrichment of all participants of the national minorities’ meeting.
This meeting will include the “Babel of tastes under the open sky” where national minorities will introduce themselves through their traditionally made dishes with a possibility to taste for all visitors.
